Memory

This is a 20,000 m2 project on a plot of land in the town of San Martín, Province of Buenos Aires.

The building to be constructed on the site will be the UPCN (National Civil Personnel Union) sanatorium.

The program is distributed on an open ground floor with public attention and security guards, a first level with operating rooms and intensive care, a second level with a cafeteria, auditorium, administrative offices and machine rooms, and five inpatient floors. Below the access level there is a basement with service programs and parking.

From a morphological perspective, the complex is stratified with three basement floors and two parallel double-bay strips with bridges that connect them, creating a courtyard. The first level is treated as a formally autonomous piece, a solid prism with a quadrangular base that rests on a transparent ground floor. The second floor functions as a bellows between the prism and the inpatient floors.

The building will also incorporate bio-environmental features such as rainwater harvesting, ventilated facades, green terraces, passive solar systems and geothermal heat exchange.
