Headquarters of the Professional Council of Architecture and Urbanism
Memory
This is the remodelling and recycling of an office building, headquarters of the CPAU.
A series of two-level functional units have been configured as a "duplex":
The basement and its mezzanine housing the auditorium and exhibitions, ground floor and first floor for public attention,
and second and third floors for library use.
The other floors were used as technical and general management offices.
The Council meeting room was located on the top level.
The aim was to keep the building's façade intact, incorporating new life and spaciousness into its interior.
The vertical connection by cutting the slabs modified the large horizontal compartmentalization, making it possible to understand
of space as a whole.
The cyclopean plate determines a strong interior space, acting in turn as a piece of furniture serving the interior of the floors.
It acts as an iconic element from the street, and can be perceived as the heart and manifestation of the Institution.
